- Where is Ancora?
- 1483 East Valley Road, Montecito, CA 93108 — in Montecito's Upper Village. Look for the small awning.
- What are your hours?
- Dinner Thursday through Monday, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. We're closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Do you serve lunch?
- At the moment, Ancora is open for dinner only.
- What kind of food is it?
- Italian. The dinner menu runs antipasti, Roman-style pinsa, handmade pasta, and simply prepared secondi — whole branzino, a porcini-rubbed bone-in ribeye, a pork chop with braised fennel — plus sides, a children's menu, and beer, cider and spritzes. The wine list covers Italy, France and Santa Barbara County.
- How much is dinner?
- Antipasti are $20, pastas $28, pinsas $30, and secondi $45–$60. Sides are $7 and the children's menu is $15. Wines by the glass run $14–$26; bottles start at $45.
- Do you take reservations?
- Yes. Reservations open fourteen days in advance, and walk-ins are welcome at the bar.
- Can I book a large party?
- Parties of eight or more are handled directly — write to [email protected].
- Is Ancora good for kids?
- Yes. There's a children's menu with three dishes at $15: a raw vegetable salad, fusilli with butter, pomodoro or Bolognese, and turkey and vegetable bites.
- Is there parking?
- Free street parking on East Valley Road in the evenings. Santa Barbara MTD buses also serve the Upper Village.
- Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?
- Yes. There's a step-free entrance from East Valley Road and an accessible restroom at the back of the dining room, on the same level as the host stand. Dining-room aisles are at least 36 inches; bar seating is taller and may be difficult for some guests. For a specific question before your visit, call (805) 869-2338.
- Can I bring my dog?
- Dogs are welcome on the patio, subject to space and how busy we are — one dog per party, leashed and under the table. Service animals are welcome throughout the restaurant. Read our pet policy.
- Do you have gluten-free or vegetarian options?
- The menu marks dishes that are vegetarian, gluten-free, or contain major allergens. Our kitchen is small and many dishes are prepared near allergens, so please tell your server about any allergy — we'll do our best and be honest about what we can't guarantee.
